This printer has got lots of reviews on Amazon some good, some mediocre and some bad, so I decided to test it out for myself to see how I found it. I found the easiest way to set this printer up was to download the software drivers from the HP website, I switched the printer on followed the prompts on screen and it found my router straight away. The main reason I wanted to test this printer was because the reviews have said it is good for printing directly from smartphones and the ipad and I found this to be the case. The printer has its own email address that you send your documents to, so you can arrive home and find all the items you sent to print there waiting for you.
I have used all the functions that are available on this model including photocopying which was very easy to do, scanning – found no problems at all, the fax option is useful if ever needed and obviously the easiness of printing directly from a mobile device is what makes this printer stand out. The HP Photosmart 5510 e-All in One ink cartridges come in the standard colours of black, yellow, cyan and magenta and I would recommend trying a value pack to cut costs and get the most for your money. The ink cartridges also print very well and produce quality prints.
This is a great value printer for what you get and the print quality it produces, I have used more expensive models in the past and I would say all the features (print, copy and scan) are as good as those, with the exception being they are done at a slower speed. One slight negative about the printer is that it can be slightly noisy when it is first switched on, however this is not a major problem in my eyes.
