Installation of the printer to the PC was very quick and easy with the computer picking up the network straight away. The model is small, neat design – perfect for any home space. A good design is that it shuts off automatically when not in use therefore saving electricity and energy, but it also wakes up very quickly when it needs to be used again. It is a reliable printer and also has the great added feature of allowing you to be to duplex print in order to save paper.
This model has a great printing speed, it is able to print up to twenty sheets per minute. A good point to note is that this is not a wireless printer and so does require a wired network in order to work which is a bit of a negative considering the number of wireless printers that are on the market nowadays. One more negative to point out that it is quite loud when printing so if you think that will bother you that I wouldn’t purchase this particular model. The printer comes fitted with an ink cartridge as well as two replacement cartridges, the Brother HL2250DN Ink and Toner Cartridges are long lasting, with the standard cartridges being able to print up 1200 sheets.
The print quality I would say is of a good standard but not excellent, therefore if you need to purchase a printer for business use it may not be ideal as there sometimes can be slight curling of the pages. Be sure to also change the printer settings so that it prints on toner saving mode, this is ideal for everyday printing and will save you a lot of ink and thus money. Just to make you aware the running low of ink message does seem to come up quickly – i.e. when you are not that close to running out, so I would just keep printing until it will not anymore so that you do get the most out of every cartridge.
